General action mingling!
[The last day before classes begin again is always an exciting time. As nice as it is to have the place to herself and her music, it got pretty quiet during the off months. It also means that this has been an early morning for her. She'd already gotten the notice that she'd be having roommates coming in, so she'd made sure that Suite D was ready. The suite is cleaned up and, after reading that some places like hotels and stuff left chocolates for guests, decided that sounded like a good idea. Except when it had come time to actually put the plan into action, there'd just been too many different kinds to choose from, and it wasn't like she knew what kind they would like.
So, basically everybody in the suite has a pile of candy waiting for them on their pillow. That's obviously the best choice. People like candy, right? ... Right!]
[Other than that, Ellen can probably be found all over campus today, ready and willing to meet people and help newcomers find their way around the place. Whatever might come up.]

Who left this HERE...?
[To be completely honest, she's never gotten random candy before.]

She overhears Dlanor from the other room in the suite, because really how could she not, and is soon leaning around the doorway.]
Ah... hi. You must be one of my suitemates for this term.
no subject
[Dlanor was aware enough of Ellen not to feel the need for formal introductions.]
Did you misplace this candy, or is it for me...?
no subject
She nods at her question, looking somewhat pleased at her plan.]
That's right. I read that some places leave candy like that to welcome no guests so I thought it would be a nice surprise.
no subject
[She's not complaining, just not sure how to react.]
Thank you.
no subject
Well... when I went to get it there were just so many different kinds and I wasn't sure which one would be the best. So....
I guess I did go a little overboard.

But that candy.
Lissa couldn't help just staring at it in utter confusion. ]

When the two men are finally gone, she finally ventures inside the room pausing and blinking for a moment when she notices the younger girl's confused expression a little bewildered herself.]
... Is everything okay?
[... Maybe she's never seen chocolate before?]
no subject
Any worries about how settled in Ellen is are eclipsed by the gift of SO MUCH CANDY. ]
...is this normal?
no subject
More concerning right now is the amount of stuff the girl had brought along with her, particularly that army of stuffed animals. Well... they'd make it work somehow!]
Well... no, but I thought it would be a nice way to welcome everybody.
[She pauses, fixing the heap of chocolate with a serious, thoughtful expression.]
It's not too much, is it? The book I read said usually only one is left, but I wasn't sure what people might like so....
no subject
Oh. Oh! Wow, thanks, I didn't really expect... I mean, that's a lot of chocolate, and I like chocolate, but wow.
Uh, I'm Lissa. Guess we're living together.
no subject
With Lissa's thanks, Ellen actually gives a relieved smile. Yes! Good first impression get!]
I'm glad.
[She holds out her hand, offering a handshake.]
I'm Ellen. Welcome to St. Augustus.
no subject
Thanks. I dunno how long it'll take me to eat all this, but it's really, really generous of you.
[ Or a bribe to make sure Lissa likes her right off the bat, but she needs to keep positive! ]
no subject
I guess there's no rush. I'm sure it'll last for awhile.
[She smiles as she shakes Lissa's hand. It looks like the two of them are going to get along just fine. Never underestimate the power of candy!
After a moment, she glances over to Lissa's stuff.]
Ah... do you need any help getting unpacked?
no subject
[ Hopefully! Welp. Her handshake is a little exaggerated, and then she's off to start figuring out how to unpack all of this. ]
Oh, uh, maybe. I don't want to get all my stuff all over your side of the room!
no subject
Excuse me! This is the way to the cafeteria, right?
no subject
Still, hungry or not, her head perks up at the sound of somebody calling to her and she turns toward Athrun.]
That's right, it's just up ahead.
no subject
[He folds up the map and sticks it in his pocket.]
How's the food here?
no subject
[All said with folded arms and a sagely nod. Not that... she's eaten at very many places, living in the school for both of her two years as a human....
Her wise expression falters when there's a sudden low growling sound. No, it's not a ravenous monster lurking in the trees. It's just her stomach.]
Ah ha... I was just headed there, actually. I could show you the way if you want.
no subject
[He sticks his hands in his pockets.]
Have you really had everything the cafeteria has to offer?
no subject
[Okay, just... moving on then. She start off in the direction of the cafeteria, regaining her composure and counting on the new guy to keep pace, hands clasped behind her back.]
Hm, [she nods] I've lived here at the school for two years and eating the same thing every day would get boring.
no subject
[He keeps pace quite well, so that's not a worry. In fact, he ends up walking beside her.]
Is there anything in particular you'd recommend?
no subject
Someone's a busy little bee today, hm?
[The girl's trying rather hard, Nanoha can see that. Maybe a little too hard?]
no subject
With these creature. Oh the Trollmanity.
So, fudge it. He's going to walk up to her eventually, practically glowering behind his cracked shades.]
Greetings. I see you have been hard at work already.
