Action, On a Sunday

[New school! Living on her own! A new and no doubt bizarre world to discover.

After finishing up registration, dropping her stuff off in her (at the time empty) new room, and bidding farewell to her parents, Annie heads out into the bright, shining outdoors (okay, it's 56 degrees and cloudy) to explore her beautiful new home.

No classes today, so there should be people hanging around campus, right? PRIORITY 1 MAKE FRIENDS, PRIORITY 2 TO BE DETERMINED LATER]

[So yeah, general exploratory first-day action mingle. Have at it.]

[ Man, Duck is just so excited to be here! And with lots of other new people coming innnn...!

Hey, look, there's one now! ]

Hello! Are you new? [ Without the slightest pause to even give him the chance to begin to answer- ] Wow, that's a lot of stuff! Is it all yours? What do you need it all for?

[Well, that was abrupt. Athrun may be faster on the uptake than most people, but even he wasn't anticipating a subject change that fast.]

--Well, I'm, ah, moving in right now. It's all personal materials. Clothing, toiletries, a TV, a computer...

[ Yeah. See this blank stare? Completely over her head. Even though that was the most basic of basics.

Okay, stick to what you know, Duck. ] That sounds like a lot. Do you need any help?

[ She's not actually giving him... a chance... to answer... she's just grabbing a random box on top. PRAY IT'S NOT HEAVY AND/OR FRAGILE. ]

Wha-- hey, hey! Don't touch anything!

[Athrun lets go of the cart and grabs for the box.]

Wh-whoa! [ Duck instinctively takes a step back, but she... trips...

And as she falls backwards, she flings her arms up. And there the box goes. Up in the air. And back behind Duck, at that, where it's even less possible to save it because there's a flailing, falling, duck-like girl in the way. ]

[duckduckdeux]

[ ...and then both she and the box come down. ]

[Athrun instantly leaps into action. He jumps forward and bends his knees so that his knuckles are nearly dragging on the concrete and catches the girl before she can smack into it herself. The box lands harmlessly nearby. Fortunately, Athrun had arranged his belongings so that the heavier objects were on the bottom of the cart. Ultimately, no harm was done.]

Geez... Are you all right?

[ O h this hurt a lot less than she thought it was going to.


Wait no he caught her. ] Wow, that was amazing.

[ And then the actual events that transpired catch up to her. ]

[ She is immediately up out of his arms, arms flailing in front of her and stammering as she speaks. ] Oh-Oh my GOSH I am so sorry I dropped your stuff and I should have asked for permission and then you had to catch me even though it was my fault and are you all right?

It's OK, it's OK! Please, calm down.

[Athrun stands to his full height, then picks up the box and sets it back on the cart.]

You don't need to worry about me -- I'm fine. As are you, it looks like. Everything's fine now.

I'm calm, I'm calm!

How about I just... get the door for you? [ See, look, she's helping! Helping! ]
