[It's the start of a new semester. That means confusion, disorder, chaos. There's only one person with no social life the mindset and authority to keep her fellow students in line and organized.]

[Dlanor can be found all over the school today, giving directions, giving polite but firm reminders not to run/horse around/use superpowers, running papers for teachers, and generally being a helpful little nerd. She's somehow even projecting her little monotone voice over the general havoc, helped by her weird emphasis.]

Excuse me, are you LOST? I can help if you show me your SCHEDULE.

[Sette looks up. She's been standing by the edge of the hall, watching students come and go, and lifting small items off of them when the opportunity presents itself. She has no intention of actually attending classes, but it seems as good a time as any to case the joint, so to speak.]

No. Piss off.

[Incidentally, her tail is right out in the open, sticking through a hole in the back of her jeans. That's probably a rule violation, right?]

[Dlanor looks her over, and compares her to the records she'd spent most of yesterday going over.]

You're new this YEAR. I should let you know that you should cover your TAIL. Glamor doesn't always work PERFECTLY.

I didn't come halfway across the world to a poncy school for magic folks so I could shove me tail down my trousers like always. I'm letting it air out.

You may air it out in your dorm or the RESTROOM. We have several other students who aren't yet ACCLIMATED.

I see I've forgotten to introduce MYSELF. I am Dlanor A. Knox, and I am the Hall MONITOR.

If this is going to be a problem, let me guide you to class, and you can talk to your homeroom TEACHER.

Ooh, a hall MONITOR. My MISTAKE. I shoulda properly kowtowed to yer authority IMMEDIATELY.

[ She rolls her eyes, and then spits. Yes, spits. Right onto the ground.]

Only thing worse'n a copper is some trumped-up nobody with delusions of grandeur. Go yammer to me teacher, see if I care. I don't even know the bloke.

[Dlanor takes a long second to stare at the spit on the nice tile floor that the maintenance staff had just finished buffing this morning.]

[Then she looks up.]

I didn't think I'd get this much excitement first thing in the MORNING. You're very confident for a seventh GRADER. I'll leave you alone on one CONDITION.

If I win, of course, you'll agree to tuck your tail in and go to class QUIETLY.

[Sette's not totally clear on the subject but it doesn't sound like a worthwhile expenditure of her time.]

[She turns around and starts to walk away. If she hears the hall monitor come after her, she'll break out into a sprint.]

[Jeez, normally kids want to show off on their first day. Like prison.]

Classrooms are this WAY.

[She's not going to chase her though, that's pushing it too far.]

[And with that last comeback, shouted over her shoulder, she is gone. She will not be attending homeroom today. Or indeed any of her classes.]

[Once she has the proper authorization to physically accost you it is so on.]

[Ah, yes, the hall monitor. The closest thing to a perfect agent of order the student body has. Anthony has nothing but respect for Dlanor, having watched her grow into monitorship. He's almost proud!

The reason he's around the halls instead of as well as getting ready in his classroom is to hand Dlanor a few things he... has a feeling she'll need. A stack of printed personal schedules, some map pamphlets, an extra whistle, a bottle of water, and a banana, all in a plastic bag.]

Never an easy job to try to corral this many students this early in the semester, hm?

It is good to see you once more, Dlanor A. Knox. How many foolish new fools are there for us to discipline this semester?

[Technically, Franziska is not a hall monitor. But only technically.]

[That's where they teach Galactic History.]

[Dlanor could be a bit too strict sometimes, but her heart's always in the right place.]

[Dlanor smiles the closest she gets to a non-bloodthirsty smile. It's good to be appreciated once in a while.]

If you go down the stairs to your right and out the doors, it's directly across the COURT.

[She thinks. There were other things taught in that building...]

Unless there is any sort of spatial DISTORTION. In that case it might be to the right or the left INSTEAD.

Miss Von Karma. It's good to see you.

[She checks over her notes to answer literally and precisely. It's what Franziska would want to hear, obviously.]

There are at least eight new students this SEMESTER. However, this list is not necessarily up to DATE.

[Oh wow, that looks very helpful. Also nutritious.]

If it was an easy job, I'm sure someone else could do IT. Thank you very MUCH.

There's already been one TROUBLEMAKER. However, most of them are polite, if reasonably CONFUSED.
